Study of hydraulic fracturing for gas drainage in a coal mine in Iran

Hydraulic fracturing (HF) is one of the methods for making coal mining operation safer and more economical. The most important parameters affecting HF process a seam are dip, thickness, uniformity, roof floor conditions, reserve strength. This paper presents development application fuzzy model predicting efficiency HF, considering aforementioned factors. In developed model, seams calculated as dimensionless numerical index within range 0–100. suggested scale categorises to very low, medium, high high, each being specified by subset mentioned (0–100). used study potential in Parvadeh 4 mine Iran. consists five different C1, C2, B1, B2 D. results show that C1 B2, with predicted 94·6 81·2% efficiency, have gas drainage. B1 seam, 31·8% has low drainage HF. would not be appropriate both C2 D seams, 7·5% efficiency.
